Your firm's own RediDraft™ One server: a private, single-tenant installation with a database that belongs to your firm alone. Your whole organization shares the same libraries, working in the browser or in the native desktop client, whichever each person prefers, and your data lives on infrastructure you own.

Single-tenant by design: Private Web is one installation, one database, one firm: yours. No shared infrastructure, no other tenants, no commingled data. It is the architectural opposite of a shared service.
Runs where you choose: Install it on a server inside your firm, or on a server in a cloud account your firm owns, such as Amazon Web Services or DigitalOcean. Either way, the account, the server, and the data are yours.
Browser or desktop client, person by person: Nothing has to be installed on a workstation: any modern browser, on any operating system, is a complete workstation. And anyone who would rather have a native application can install the RediDraft™ desktop client for Windows or macOS and sign in to the very same server. Same libraries, same content, same permissions; it's a per-person choice, not a firm-wide one, and it's included with every seat.
Everyone on the latest version: Update the server and every browser user has the new version the moment they refresh. No workstation rollouts, no version drift. Desktop clients are told when a new version is available.
Your data, inside your walls: Libraries, Form Volumes, and client work stay on infrastructure your firm controls, under your security policies. Nothing about your practice lives on our servers.
No IT staff? We can manage it: Optional server management for firms without IT support: we keep your Private Web server healthy, patched, and backed up for a monthly fee. It's still your server, your account, and your data.

Two ways in, one set of libraries

A firm is rarely of one mind about this. Some people want a browser tab and nothing to maintain; others want a real application in the dock, and won't be talked out of it. Private Web serves both from the same server, and you don't have to decide for anyone: point a browser at the server, or install the desktop client and connect it. Either way it's the same libraries, the same Form Volumes, and the same roles.

In the browser

Nothing to install, nothing to patch, and any operating system will do. Assembly runs on your own server, so the work never leaves the building either way.

In the desktop client

A native Windows or macOS application that signs in to your server and shows its shared libraries alongside any private libraries kept on that machine. Documents are assembled locally, on the workstation. Entirely optional: if your firm would rather install nothing at all, the browser above is a complete workstation on its own. The Windows build isn't code signed and shows a one-time warning on install; the macOS build is signed. Our security page explains why and what we publish instead.

The desktop client also works when the network doesn't. Pin the libraries a user needs and they get a complete, self-contained copy, encrypted on that machine, good for reading and assembling documents on a plane or at a courthouse with no connection, for a window your administrator sets. Refreshing a pin is a deliberate act, and editing content requires a live connection to the server, so there is exactly one authoritative copy of your library at all times. Nothing is ever quietly reconciled behind your back.

Managed for you, owned by you

Not every firm has an IT staff, and Private Web shouldn't require one. If you'd rather not think about servers, we'll manage yours: provisioning, updates, monitoring, and backups, handled by the same US-based team that builds the software. The service is billed monthly and priced to cover its cost; it exists to support your firm, not to be a profit stream.

And because the server sits in your firm's own account, the arrangement never traps you: take over management yourself, hand it to your IT provider, or ask us to step back in, at any time. Ownership doesn't move; only the chores do.

One requirement, stated plainly: the managed service goes hand in hand with an active license. If your license ever lapses, the software keeps running on your server, but our management of that server ends. Renew within a year and both pick right back up, caught up on your original anniversary date; a lapse longer than a year means returning on a new first-year license.

Who it's for

Firms with data-control requirements that want the ease of a web application, without giving up the option of a real desktop application: every byte on infrastructure the firm owns, whether that's a server down the hall or a cloud account in the firm's name, and each person working the way they prefer. If you'd rather own nothing at all and let us run the whole service, the SaaS Web edition is the same experience on our infrastructure. If your firm is committed to authoring in Microsoft Word, RediDraft Classic offers the same ownership: it too can connect to a server you host yourself instead of RediDraft Cloud. And nothing here is a one-way door: Site License firms can migrate between SaaS Web and Private Web in either direction at any time, with our help and at no cost.
